Industry Assisted Lecture Series
A new deep dive learning program that is designed to impart practical knowledge on different aspects and applications of Emerging Technologies in industry. Core and Emerging Technologies topics on AI, Cyber security, Internet of things, Electric vehicles, etc. will be conducted as a series of sessions
Theory to Practice-Dept Visit
T2P – Theory to Practice Lectures are usually given by IIT professors who have consulted for industries or who have knowledge about lab to real life products which have had a social impact. T2P session will be followed by the state of art lab visit to the respective department in IIT.
Entrepreneurship Development Initiative
To address the market needs for Innovation and Entrepreneurship, PALS will be providing platforms to kindle the spirit of ENTREPRENEURSHIP among the students. The offerings include various webinars, workshops, conclaves, mentoring sessions etc. Potential Startups will be recommended for incubation with IITM and other institutions
innoWAH! 24-25 - Innovation Catalyst
Year long innovation competition, from start to finals. Enables students develop business, communication and presentation skills, teamwork and leadership capabilities. Gives students an understanding of engineering industry practices, including rigors of documentation and compliance.
Virtual Lab Orientation
PALS in partnership with NIT Suratkal offers VLABS. The various components of this program are – 3-day FDP on Introduction to VLABS; Advanced Training on VLABs usage in various domains; on-the-job experiential learning by PI faculty; guidance to develop new VLAB experiments for interested faculty.
Faculty Development Program
FDP at IIT Madras (TLC) PALS has collaborated with the Teaching Learning Center of IIT Madras to conduct a 3-day Pedagogy Workshop for the faculty of PALS partner institutes to enhance student learning through effective teaching. This FDP is now being conducted online.
Residential Students Workshop (RSW)
RSW is a three-day residential program conducted at IIT Madras. The main objective of the program is to encourage students to think of creative solutions to problems. They are encouraged to understand a problem, develop solutions, and create a working
prototype with limited resources. These projects are judged on its ability to meet expected outcome by industry experts.
Summit / Conclaves
PALS conducts several summits and conclaves for the management team of the partner institutes. Entrepreneurial summit, Industry – Academia conclave, Partner Institute education summit etc are some of them. Focus of these summits / conclaves are on the emerging trends in education & how management, faculty and students have to adapt themselves to this change
Industry Visit
PALS leveraging its vast industry connect, conducts physical visits to some of the top Industries in this region. These visits are mostly limited only the faculties of the partner institutes. They are exposed to the Practical applications of Theory, latest technology and manufacturing trends & the industry expectations from Academia. Every visit to the shopfloor turns out to be an eye opener for them.
Student Leader Program
Every year PALS will identify 2 students from each PI and engage them in a yearlong internship program. PALS helps them develop their leadership skills and also provide opportunities to enhance their presentation and communication skills.
PALS Internship
PALS facilitates Internships & Summer Projects opportunities for Students to work for limited time in Industry, Academic institutions, Startups etc. This may open doors for future career opportunities. Internship opportunities will be across the industries and based on the industry’s demand.
PALS Special Programs
PALS also conducts several other programs in partnership with some of the reputed organizations. Hackathons, Cyber Security CTF events, Quest, RuTAG, Industry Projects etc are a few to quote conducted by PALS in the recent years
